Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) announced a self-propelled cutter suction dredger valued at AED 618 million, expanding its fleet of more than 170 vessels, according to a press release.

The 148-meter vessel has an installed power of 30,440 kilowatts, which will enhance the group’s dredging capacity, supporting its expanding backlog and recently awarded projects across multiple jurisdictions.

Construciton phase started on 28 Janaury 2026, while the dredger is expected to be delivered by the first quarter (Q1) of 2027.

Yasser Zaghloul, the CEO of NMDC, said: “This state-of-the-art dredger will join NMDC’s impressive fleet, enhance our operational capabilities and allow us to execute our projects with more efficiency."

“A core strategic directive at NMDC is to boost the group’s long-term capacity, deploy best-in-class assets, adopt the latest technology, and enhance our capacity to execute major coastal, port, energy, and offshore projects across our key international markets,” the CEO emphasized.

NMDC has steadily increased its operational capacity in recent years. In 2025, it strengthened its international presence through new projects in the Philippines, Oman, and Taiwan, in collaboration with NMDC Energy.

In October, the ADX-listed group signed a contract with Pasay Harbor City Corporation (PHCC) to execute large-scale dredging and land reclamation works in Manila Bay, Philippines. Moreover, in January, NMDC secured a $1.13 billion engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from Taiwan Power Company (Taipower).
